St. Joseph’s Villa hosted the Capital Region Youth Transition Forum on October 12, 2011.  The meeting was a gathering of area professionals concerned with developing opportunities for students to gain skills to ease their transition to adulthood.

One of the students in the Villa's CATS program speaks at the Transition Forum

During the meeting, Villa personnel described the Villa’s Career and Transition Services program and its array of services to help students make successful transitions.  Attendees also heard from Dana Hawes, Head of the Dooley Center for Alternative Education, about the Villa’s education offerings for students who have been suspended or expelled, and from Eric Townsend, Director of the Villa’s After-School and In-School Therapeutic Day Treatment programs.  As an added bonus, the group also heard from students enrolled in the Villa’s Career and Transition Services program.
