Senator Creigh Deeds tours Villa programs

Virginia Senator Creigh Deeds visited St. Joseph’s Villa on Tuesday, July 25 to learn about about our education and mental health services. We were also happy to be joined by Voices for Virginia’s Children Executive Director Margaret Nimmo Holland and Policy Analyst Ashley Everette.

Senator Deeds met program leaders from our Sarah Dooley Center for Autism and Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). The CSU serves youth ages 5-17  experiencing behavioral health crisis who could benefit from short-term placement. More than 700 children and their families have been served by the CSU to date. The CSU recently relocated to a larger building to increase service capacity, and now accommodates eight beds, up from six, plus two day placements.

We thank Senator Deeds for taking the time to learn about our life-changing programs, made possible by community partnerships!
