At the Villa, we don’t view stable housing as the finish line. While getting an individual or family into a home is the immediate priority, the wraparound supports that help them thrive there continue long after they have moved in.
Our commitment to that long-term success was recently put into action at the Flagler Housing Success Center, where we were thrilled to host volunteers from Atlantic Union Bank to kick off a series of job training workshops. They offered our participants practical, personalized guidance on everything from crafting resumes to navigating the complexities of today’s interview process.
The current job market can feel intimidating for many of our program participants. Having experts on hand to provide these tools helps give the confidence needed to build toward financial independence.
To help our families focus on their professional goals, we also made sure their home life was supported, too. Following the training, we provided gift cards and invited everyone to stock up on essentials from our food pantry and Welcome Home Room. It’s an immense challenge to look toward the future when a family is worried about basic necessities, and by removing some of those daily hurdles, we hope to create the “breathing room” our neighbors need to plan and reach for that next chapter.
Partnerships like the one we share with Atlantic Union Bank are the heartbeat of our Flagler Housing and Homeless Services. Housing stability for everyone takes a community-wide effort, and we look forward to continuing this collaboration to build brighter futures.
