CDC reports 30% increase in children with autism

According to a new report by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 68 U.S. children has an autism spectrum disorder — up from 1 in 88 in 2012. Autism continues to be much more common in boys (1 in 42) than girls (1 in 189).
The report also points out that, while autism can be diagnosed as early as age 2, the average age of diagnosis is age 4. Research shows that the earlier you treat children with autism, the bigger impact you can have on IQ and overall functioning.
