PBS’s Virginia Home Grown features Villa Learning & Therapy Garden

Virginia Home Grown

In Virginia Home Grown‘s recent episode on the healing power of nature, our own Matthew Kreydatus, Senior Director of Wellness and Transition Services, and Tyler Berkeley, Garden Coordinator, shared the many ways gardening can benefit students with specialized education needs.

The Villa’s 7,500 sq. ft. Learning & Therapy Garden is a dynamic shared space for everyone we serve, and home to a wide range of activities designed to enhance physical, mental, and emotional health. With so many textures, sights and smells, and produce to harvest, it is a stimulating resource that changes with every season!

Volunteers play a huge part in helping us maintain and improve our Garden throughout the year. If you or your organization would like to get involved, please contact Mary Rousis, Community Engagement Coordinator, at 804-553-3211 or email.
